Animals of the Anthropocene
“Animals of the Anthropocene” is a speculative design project that aims to question our relationship with other animals in an era often referred to by scientists and thinkers as “the Anthropocene” – the Age of Humans.
Similar to how modern science reconstructs the appearance, lifestyle, and characteristics of prehistoric animals based on the few remaining fossils and traces in visual and oral culture, such as legends, myths, and fairy tales, the curators of this fictional exhibition, set in the distant future, attempt to restore the long-gone world of biodiversity.
Through this future perspective, our complex and sometimes absurd behavioral patterns toward other animals are illuminated and questioned.
